2014 Recap

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

I'm sitting here on the couch, sipping a glass of Prosecco (I ❤ bubbles) and reading Jim Gaffigan's Dad is Fat when the thought suddenly occurs to me:

Tomorrow is the last day of 2014. So what could be better than a 2014 Year Recap!?

Thanks, guys. I can hear the groans from here.

But 2014 was a year of BIG changes for me. Like, big. HUGE.

In the same year, I became the Assistant Director of Student Life at Ivy Tech and then made the difficult decision to give it all up and pursue my passions with Blueline. I had chronic heartburn for about a month while all of the pieces fell into place, and despite my initial reservations of walking away from a place where I had planted roots, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I got to know Amanda, my supervisor in the Student Life office. Though we only worked together for a short time, I'm confident that there is no other human being walking this planet whose sense of humor is more in sync with mine.

We also welcomed a chinchilla into the family this year. I still haven't formed a true opinion of him yet because he hates me. Kevin only slightly hates Clayton.

I became an aunt again when my oldest sister had her second son, Jonah.

We lost a good friend and an amazing man when Matthew Patton passed away.

I started and mostly destroyed my very first summer garden.

I learned a lot about wine. Like, a lot.

I totaled my beloved Pontiac G6 and now drive an SUV, but I'm counting my blessings because I paid for that car in full and it has all 4 hubcabs and keyless entry.

I got to experience zip-lining twice this year, I finally saw The Book of Mormon and I met Pete Holmes.

I PR'd in my 8th half marathon this November.

No matter how you choose to ring in the New Year, I pray that 2015 will be a blessed year for you all! Thank you for reading! See ya next year. ;)

Cheers!
