Friday 5

Happy Friday, guys and gals! Oh my gosh, I am so excited for the weekend (and it has nothing to do with the giant coffee I bought this morning and reheated after lunch. Coffee and I are back on after another break-up last week. We're not back together officially, but we're kind of testing things out and keepin' it casual)! Clay and I are in dire need of a break and an evening with friends.

A fast 5 before the weekend ...

1.) I finally got around to making one of my Pinterest recipes last night. See, I'm not a total slacker! Last night Clayton graciously offered to prime the macaroni n' cheese orange bathroom at the house while I tackled the mountain of dishes piled up in the kitchen at our townhouse (we've been totes neglecting it lately). While I washed dishes, I baked a pan of garbanzo beans in the oven to make Spicy Roasted Chick Peas!

Roasted Chick Peas are easy: Just take 1 regular-sized can of chick peas (it's something like 15.5 oz) and drain. Then toss the peas in a bowl with a little olive oil, sea sat and spices of your choice (I used garlic salt and chili powder). Then spread an even layer of the chick peas on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes at 400°. (Be sure to shake em' around a bit at about the half-way point). It makes a healthy, easy snack!

2.) Ever forget your were training for a marathon? Happened to me. I finished last night's dishes around 7:30 p.m. and on my way out of the kitchen, I took a quick peek at my marathon training schedule taped to the fridge. Ooops. I was supposed to run 5 miles. So I hit the trail just in time to get caught in a thunderstorm. But I totally love running in the rain, so it was all good.

3.) My sister emailed me this video today and I can't stopped watching/laughing at it.

4.) I got trapped in a clearance sale and stocked up on sweaters for the fall. Is it sad that I miss autumn? Bring on the boots and scarves, please! (And don't even get me started about my sudden craving for all things pumpkin spice!)

5.) Tonight E! News will be running a special segment on the Backstreet Boys to promote their In a World Like This album, and I am totally DVR'ing it because they still make my 27 year-old heart go pitter-patter. I'm a happily married woman who's musical tastes have (thankfully) matured over the years, but if I saw Nick Carter walking down the street today, I'm pretty sure I'd still throw my undies at him.

Happy Friday! :)
