This isn't really a weekend recap
"It's the final countdown! ...bababaabaa bababababaa!"
We are down to 5 days until closing, folks! 5 days! I am bursting with so much energy and anticipation, I don't even know what to do with myself. It's like waiting for Christmas morning on steroids.
|Our house doesn't really look like this.|
We're trying to break the tension of this inevitably slow-moving week by coming up with fun activities to keep us occupied, such as packing boxes and kissing our savings account goodbye. Then we're going to do some things that actually are fun like go to the county fair and eat our weight in cotton candy while I fawn all over the 4H bunnies.
Our weekend was good, but totally rushed. I'm in the midst of finishing my summer classes and our townhouse looks like a bomb went off in it, so we didn't have too much time for horseplay. I did get to hang out with my sister and meet her super sweet beau though. If there's one thing I don't have enough of in my life, it's sister time. Seriously. A built-in best friend.
I had a horrible 7-mile run on Saturday morning. My body completely rejected the idea of moving from the very beginning, and I'm almost embarrassed by how slow the last three miles were. I'm actually surprised someone didn't stop me and ask if I was alright because the look on my face was that of sheer distress. I hydrated well and slept soundly; but sometimes bad runs just happen. It's getting super frustrating! However, I totally made up for it on Sunday morning with a 3-mile run below an 8:00 min/mile pace. Hoorah!
I also had a photo session with the always lovely Cat in exchange for the cupcakes I baked for her vow renewal ceremony earlier this summer. When my mom asked me what Cat was photographing, I got really embarrassed and was like, " ... my face." It's totally self-absorbed, I know, so I wasn't shouting it from the roof-tops, but I'm searching for ways to elevate my blog and take it to the next level. My current profile pic was taken in my bathroom mirror with my phone. That doesn't exactly scream "TAKE ME AND MY WRITING SERIOUSLY!"
But as Cat and I discovered during our session together, I clearly do not take myself seriously either. Kind of interested/concerned/scared to see how a few of those pictures turned out ...
And in other news: This morning I placed a few boxes on top of the trash can in my office for recycling and realized I totally made a Transformer.
