A farewell to arms

Have you ever injured yourself in a really horrible, terrible way, but were too embarassed to tell anyone about it because you only have that injury because you were doing something kind of stupid?

Yeah, that's me.

Yesterday I was in the kitchen, languidly watching Clayton roll out the dough for our pizza (I make the dough, he rolls it into shape). In my boredom from not having anything to do for a solid 30 seconds, I decided now would be an excellent time to try and pinch my husband's nipples.

Fact: Clayton doesn't like to have his nipples handled in any way, and he WILL retaliate.

Long story short (and honestly, it happened in such a blur), Clayton came after me in an attempt to tickle my armpits and shrieking, I backpedaled right into the kitchen wall. The corner of the wall rammed me right in the shoulder blade and the force of it all can only be described as "Ouchy."

I don't have full range of motion in my right arm today because the movement hurts my back too much. It took me five minutes to put my shirt on this morning.

How lame is that?

Anyhoo, today is my last post of the week because I will be spending the entirety of Friday baking cupcakes for my friend's vow renewal ceremony this weekend. We decided that I will make half chocolate cupcakes with mocha icing and half vanilla cupcakes with Italian buttercream icing, so Mixie and I have a lot of work to do!

Making the cupcakes is my gift to Cat and her husband and in lieu of getting paid, I just asked that they provide the ingredients. So last night Cat dropped by our town house with literally BAGS of goodies for me.

There is a ridiculous amount of sugar and flour in my house right now.

I'm really looking forward to the opportunity and I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I can produce over 100 yummy cupcakes that not only taste good, but look good, too!

Before I say farewell for the week, I just wanted to share this picture I saw on Cute Overload today. We've gotten a lot of rain here this week (and we had some clouds near our house yesterday that looked awfully tornado-y to me), and this duck wanting to hideout somewhere dry seemed fitting. :)

From the original submitter: “I found a duck that doesn’t like rain.
He pecked at the door for over an hour wanting to come in!”

I hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. Sorry about your shoulder blade. Hope it heals quickly!! The duck is too funny!
