My new favorite thing ever

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Last Friday night I was totally trolling for something sweet to eat. We had barely finished dinner an hour earlier, but tummy was already calling for me to feed it again. Ever been hungry for no reason? It happened to me.

I was craving something sugary and preferably chocolatey. We were out of milk, so all of the no-bake cookie options were off the table and despite my passionate, undying love for it, it was far too late to bake a cake.

So I took to the internet to find something quick and requiring relatively few ingredients.

*Cue the greatest thing that's come out of a microwave since popcorn.

Note the sweet skull mug. I drink coffee out of it ... like a boss.

So decadent, SO easy.

Mug brownies.

Mug. Brownies.

MICROWAVABLE. MUG. BROWNIES.

From start to finish, the whole project took 3 minutes. THREE MINUTES. And I'm not foolin' when I say that this microwaveable brownie tasted just as good, if not better, than pan brownies. Unlike oven brownies, mug brownies maintain their moistness all the way through ... and it's ready in like, a tenth of the time.

Want to make your own delicious, perfectly baked microwave brownie in a mug?
What you'll need:
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (I used dark chocolate cocoa. Perfection!)
  • 2.25 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • a pinch of salt

Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa and salt in your mug (And please make sure your mug is microwavable. Sparks shooting out of your microwave is neither cute nor safe.) Next, add the water and vegetable oil. Mix all ingredients thoroughly to avoid lumps. Place in microwave for roughly one minute.

(This recipe will yield one reasonable sized brownie. Just try not to think about how much sugar is in one serving. It WILL ruin your good time.)

Enjoy!

It won't last long!
