Snow Day

God must have heard my prayers, after all!

^^Bizzles absolutely LOVES playing in the snow!

I certainly don't want to seem ungrateful for having my Christmas wish come true, but did the snow have to come with such heavy wind? Seriously! I laid awake in bed until 3:00 a.m. because the wind hitting the side of our house was so loud I couldn't doze off for more than five minutes. I don't know where the wind was going in such a hurry, but it was slamming into our bedroom wall and scraping across the siding like nails on a chalkboard.

So I got virtually no sleep, but I am very thankful that I woke up to a blanket of fresh snow for the first time in ages. Sure, the roads are a disaster and my neighborhood is one giant sheet of ice that caused me to almost fishtail directly into a moving bus, but hey, beggars can't be choosers!

And it looks like this will be a weekend of INDOOR running for me. Normally I like to brave the elements and get outside whenever I can, but there's no way in heck I'm going to run on ice and risk breaking my neck. Hello, quality time with the treadmill!

Clayton was a saint and not only did he tromp back forth between to the laundromat while snow was blowing furiously last night, he got up early enough to scrape my car and start it so that it was all nice and toasty for me.

Whoever said chivalry is dead clearly has not met my husband.

I don't have too much to report today other than the fact that I am patiently waiting (more like restlessly climbing the walls) for the work day to end so I can begin Phase 1 of my Christmas vacation. Thanks to the way Christmas and New Year's Day fall this year, I only had to take 3 days vacation days to give me a total of 10 days off. I do have to work one day next week, but it will nicely divide my vacation in two very satisfying chunks.

That being said, I'll probably be blogging very sporadically over the next week or so and I apologize in advance. Hopefully everyone is too busy spending time with their loved ones to concern themselves with checking blogs anyway. I know I will be!

Thanks to everyone who entered my Printcopia giveaway! I will happily announce the winner sometime next week (so DO check back for that!).

I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas! I hope your holiday is filled with joy, laughter, love and lots and lots of food!
