Dream a little dream of jeans

I'm going to Quentin Tarantino this blog post and give you the moral of the story first rather than wait until the end to totally blow your mind.

Are you ready for it?

Don't give up on your dreams, kids.

I didn't give up on my dream of colored skinny pants and look where it got me!

It got me standing in a hot, stank public bathroom taking a picture of myself in colored skinny pants like a total creeper, apparently.

And they're Not. That. Bad. Aside from a slightly baggy waistband (because my lower body is shaped like an like an upside down ice cream cone) and practically needing industrial pliers to yank them over my calves, these chocolate brown jeggings are not that bad. And in the world of ill-fitting, somewhat-unflattering pants, "not that bad" is just good enough.

I'm almost positive that people who saw me walking down the hallway yesterday thought to themselves, "Those pants could definitely be worse." And after all that I've been through trying so badly to make a flash-in-the-pan fashion trend work for me, I'll take it!

So don't ever let anyone tell you that  your dreams are stupid. Don't listen to the naysayers. Follow your heart (and in my case, keep shopping!). Keep dreaming your sweet little dreams and one day, you'll find yourself squeezing into your very own pair of chocolate brown jeggings.

Happy Friday!

  1. You have got to be the best blogger on the internet.. You keep me laughing (which I need these days!) Congrats on the britches! I think they look fabulous!

    1. That made my day, Christy! Thank you! I get so tickled when people take the time to read what I write. Hope you're days start looking up soon!

  2. You look phenom! At least you didn't try to brightly colored hot pants trend. Or the 'reverse mullet shirt' (the ones that are midriffs in the front but have a long back). I would have defriended you.

  3. HAHA!! This post made me laugh outloud!!

I've been fearing trying on my skinny jeans that I bought 2 years ago to wear with my riding boots (PS - I totally agree with you from your previous post that this is a great look - jeans inside boots. love.), and I just KNOW it's going to be virtually impossible to yank those things over my thighs, thanks to my recent obsession with P90X. Love the fact that I got my strength back after all these years, but not loving that my jeans fit horrifically tight over my thighs and gap at the waist. No one should have to see that nonsense.
