What's up, buttercup?

Clayton and I will have been married for 4 years this December, and June 2013 will mark our first decade as being partners in crime. You'd think that after almost 10 years together, I'd be completely out of ways to embarrass myself in front of him and no longer have any reasons to be shy. But as I unfortunately discovered today, there are still plenty of ways to start blushing in front of my hubby.

As you learned last week, Clayton and I purchased our very first smart phones and for someone who is college educated, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to operating my new mobile device. I'm not a huge fan of touch screens, so constantly tapping and waving my fingers over the screen is taking some getting used to. I've tried (and failed) at sending a voice text to Clayton and actually end up leaving him a voicemail that was nothing but me shouting, "CLAYTON! ... CLAY ... TON ... CLAYTON! DIAL 'CLAYTON', YOU MORON!"

That was kind of embarrassing to find out about later.

Only, it wasn't as embarrassing as when I called him on my lunch break this afternoon and purposefully left him a voicemail. After leaving him a message, I ended the call and continued on my merry way. I was driving home and just as I got off the phone, 4 Non Blonde's "What's Up?" came on the radio. Naturally, the chorus of "What's Up?" is meant to be sung loudly and dramatically and trust me, I did not disappoint. While serenading myself at an ear-piercing level, I picked up my phone to see if I had any messages. That's when I came to the startling realization that I never actually ended my phone call with Clayton's voicemail.

That's right, Clayton now has about a solid 45 second recording of me completely, uninhibitedly shrieking, "HEEEEY-YA YA YEAH! HEEEEY-YA! YA! I SAID HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON!?????"

I love singing, but I'm so damn shy about it, I don't even let my own husband hear me sing along to the radio. Mortified, I grabbed the phone and started screaming, "THIS PHONE IS RUINING MY LIFE!!!!! ..... let's never speak of this."
